Appiah is keen on getting back Newly-promoted Italian Serie A side Genoa are reported to have slapped in a bid for Ghana captain Stephen Appiah.

 

The respected Italian newspaper La Stampa added in its report on Saturday that it was the third time the club bid for the inspirational enforcer.

 
The 28-year-old, who has not seen club action since falling out with Fenerbahce, was last week reported to be in talks with officials of the French side Marseille.

 
But since then nothing official from both the club and the player has been made public.

 
Depsite the Marseille report, La Stampa reported on Saturday that Genoa is ready to offer a deal to strengthen their midfield.

 
Appiah is known to strengthened teams as he did with Brescia several years ago before he was prised away by Juventus.

 
Even though the Ghana captain is yet to confirm the deal, Fenerbahce will be watching the development in Italy keenly.

 
Appiah has not been in competitive club action for some time as he had been locked in a battle with Fenerbahce at Fifa.

 
Despite his absence on the club front, he has played several matches for his country since recovering from a knee injury and excelled. 

 
He has been linked with clubs in Spain, France, Germany and England while an American side as well as a Romanian club are also said to be keen on signing him.
