Ghana striker Isaac Boakye faces a difficult time at promoted Bundesliga side Nurnberg as he battles six other strikers for two starting roles in the team.

He faces stiff opposition from Christian Eigler, Angelos Charisteas, Gunyor Kaya, Bunjaku and Dario Vidosic.

But Boakye was the club's season hero as he scored 8 goals and 7 assists in 29 appearances last season in the Bundesliga II.

His two vital away goals against Energie Cottbus in the promotion play-offs aided Nurnberg's return to the top flight.

The Ex-Armenia Bielefeld and Wolfsburg forward has targeted to make a huge impact this time round in the Bundesliga.

"I do not aim for a specific number of goals since I don't know how many games I am going to play. What is important is that I put myself into a good condition, the rest will come by itself."

But the 27-year-old has come under criticism from the fans for holding on to ball for long but he disagrees.

"Opinions are like noses. The team is important, I do give my best for them. When I do hold on to the ball, the opponent can't take it. Holding on to the ball is no problem."
