Golfers at the Tema Country Golf Club (TCGC) defied the wet weather to battle for honours in the maiden Lipton Monthly Medal golf tournament, last Saturday, at the Club in Tema.
And it was the “Scientific Lady”, Mrs. Florence Etwi-Barimah, who went down in the competition's annals as the first winner of the maiden competition, returning an unusual net score of 91 on a tough course.
She was trailed by Achimota's Esi Cobbina and veteran Ama Morgan, returning 92 and 101 nets to place second and third respectively. For their efforts, they received trophies and Lipton products.
Ernest Opoku finished first returning a net score of 70 in the men's category, while Mathias Donfe, 71 net and F. Andoh followed in that order.
Mr. Eben Acheapong Brands Manager of Lipton, who described the first edition as a huge success congratulated the participants and promised his outfit's continued support.
