Inkoom's first game at Basel Ghana international defender Samuel Inkoom is confident of making a huge impression in Europe after an impressive debut for Swiss side FC Basel.
The 19-year-old played the entire duration of the game as they brushed aside Bellinzona 3-0 in a friendly.
Inkoom is playing club football for the first time in Europe after sealing a four-year contract from Kotoko last month.
The defender says even though he was only making his debut his performance has convinced him he can make a meaningful impact in Europe.
“Thankfully I made my debut in a friendly game which we won 3-0 and everyone in the stadium agrees I played well,” Inkoom said.
“It was as if I had been at this club all this while because the fans responded to me really well.
“More important too, the coach said he had been impressed with the way I played.”
The right back is famed for his foray into attack and he says a good mix of defending and attacking will help his career in Europe.
“I was running up and down the right side and the coach said he liked that style where the right back contributes significantly to attack.
“My main priority is to defend but I will continue to play a key part when the team goes forward.”
