Do it again in Omdurman!…As Stars are keyed up for Nile Crocodiles
Barely two weeks after chalking a 2-0 away victory over their Malian counterparts, a similar challenge confronts Ghana's Black Stars in their twin Africa/ World Cup qualifier this Saturday.
This time, the Group 'D' leaders, the Black Stars take on their Sudanese opponents, the Nile Crocodiles, at their own backyard in Khartoum, where they have proved indomitable to the Stars since the 70's through to early 2000's.
The vintage performance by the Black Stars, vis a vis their Sudanese opponent's below average show against Benin in Cotonou, has compelled bookmakers to predict another win for the Stars.
From the playing body to technical staff, the team has declared 'war'on Sudan right after the Bamako conquest.
Stars' Serbian manager, Coach Milovan Rajevac and skipper John Mensah in separate interviews stated their combat readiness for the Khartoum battle. “There is no time for celebration, we are going straight into action in preparation for the Sudan game,” said Milo on arrival from Bamako.
The team left the country last Saturday to pitch camp in Kenya, ahead of the qualifier.
After two games, the Stars have bagged six points and are leading Group 'D'.
A third straight win will certainly make their chances of making another World Cup appearance clearer, and this has thrown the team into wild optimism to replicate the Bamako feat.
