Offloaded players to go to court
ARHIN DUAH LEADS THE PLAYERS Thirteen transfer-listed payers of AshantiGold Football Club have resolved to take the club to court unless they are compensated for terminating their contracts.
Former Asante Kotoko striker Nana Arhin Duah leads a band of players purchased by Herbert Mensah's consortium-Fortia, which was in line to take over the Obuasi-based.
But the take over talks were discontiued and have been told by the new CEO Kudjoe Fianoo that they are were surplus to requirements at the them.
Some affected players include Mustapha Gariba, Bright Ibrahim and Ransford Cudjoe claim their contracts were abrogated unlawfully.
AshGold are in dire need of points after finishing the first half of the League, second-bottom.
The Miners play All Stars on Sunday in the second round opener.
