Kingson: I am fit to face Benin
27.03.2009 LISTEN

Kingson is fit to play on Sunday Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson says he has recovered from a minor back problem and is ready to start in Sunday's World Cup qualifier against Benin.

The England-based shot-stopper was a doubt for the game in Kumasi which prompted coach Milovan Rajevac to hand a late call up to George Owu.

But after undergoing special exercises with the Black Stars' physio over the past two days he has been declared fit to face the marauding Squirrels attackers.

"I am ready to play on Sunday as the small back problem I had has disappeared," Kingson told Ghanasoccernet.

"I trained alone with the team doctor for two days and that has really taken away the minor problem and I am ready top serve my country."

Ghana are bidding to progress to their second consecutive World Cup finals and will need to top Group D ahead of Mali, Benin and Sudan in the final phase of qualifiers if they are to succeed.
