The legendary player is set to be part of this year's tournament in South Africa in a technical capacity.

Ghana legend Abedi Ayew Pele has been picked by world football governing body FIFA to work on the technical committee for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup due to take place in South Africa in June this year.

The three-time African player of the year will be part of a team of coaches who will analyse the technical details of matches at the tournament that brings together the champions of the various continents and 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa.

The tournament will feature hosts South Africa, African champions Egypt, Brazil, New Zealand, Iraq and USA and the Ghana legend says it will be an honour to work on the competition.
