Benin names 21 players for Ghana tie

Benin Head coach, Michel Dussuyer has named a 21-man squad for Sunday's 2010 World Cup qualifier against Ghana's Black Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi on Sunday, March 29 .

The Frenchman included influential trio of Sessgnon Stephane of Paris Saint-Germain, burly striker Razak Omotoyossi of Saudi side, Al Nasr and Maiga Abou of French second division side, US Creteil.

The squad is dominated by players from French Lower divisions and has only two local players, Djokoue Patrice of Requins and Salomon Junior of the Benin National University team.

Information gathered by GNA Sports from the secretariat of the Football Federation of Benin (FEBEFOOT) in Cotonou, has it that the “Les Ecureuils” are expected in Accra on Thursday for the game.

The team will thence be flown to Kumasi where they are billed to hold their first training session on Friday.

The clash will be the first meeting between the two sides since Ghana beat Benin 4-2 in the finals of the Zenith Four Nation tourney in Accra in November 2007.
