Kotoko plot Khemisset defeat

THE 'OLD' KOTOKO BENCH Asante Kotoko want to reverse their patchy domestic season starting Sunday when they play Morroco's Ittihad Khemisset in the Caf Champions League round of 32 first leg tie at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi.

The two-time African champions have struggled in the Glo Premier League and on Wednesday suffered a 1-2 defeat to promoted Eleven Wise at home.

But the club under Isaac Opeele Boateng have vowed to overhaul themselves and chalk a decent result against Khemisset.

Kotoko's chequered performance in the league is expected to drive the players to snatch a convincing win.

"It could basically spur the boys on.I mean that they need to pick up the game and get the win to win back their fans," Director of Communications Kwame Baah-Nuakoh told Ghanasoccernet.com

"It wasn't a good result especially against Eleven Wise on Wednesday but we also need to appreciate that a couple of key players had to be rested because of this match and we paid for it.

"We really want to play in the Group stage of the competition and it starts from Sunday. Our whole season begins on Sunday," he added.

" The result we get on Sunday will either make or unmake our season. We have placed a lot of emphasis on this match to the extent that we did employ the services of the Ghana Embassy in Morocco to get us some tapes on the Morrocan side."
