Smart Energy Drink Limited, yesterday presented cartons of Smart Energy drinks, Smart branded T' shirts and caps worth several thousands of Cedis to the Ghana Boxing Association (GBA) at the Press Centre of the Ohene Djan Stadium.
The gesture was to support the GBA in its one week boxers training course under the tutelage of famous British boxing trainer, Terry Edwards, who arrived in the country last Sunday.
The General Manager of Smart Energy Drink Ltd., Anane Kwarteng, stated that the gesture forms part of his outfit's efforts to promote and develop sports in the country.
“We intend signing a long term agreement with the GBA to help up and coming boxers as well as professionals in the country,” Mr. Anane said in plain words.
He added that “Our products are made up of ingredients that will help compliment the efforts of our sports men to excel in their respective fields of endeavours.”
The chairman of GBA, Mosses Foh-Amoaning and Coaches Instructor, Edwards, thanked the donors for the gesture and promised to use it judiciously.
World champion, Joshua 'The Hitter' Clottey, who was the Special Guest, also thanked the donors for supporting a good cause.
The one week boxing Coaches Course is currently underway at the Ohene Djan Stadium and is intended to equip trainers with modern day skill. It is expected to end this Friday.
