Rahim Ayew is licking the wounds of failing to lift the African Nations Championship but the player says the tournament has given his career a huge lift.

The eldest son of three-time African Player of the Year, Abedi Pele, was the least known of three boys before the two week tournament in Ivory Coast reserved exclusively for players plying their trade in their home leagues.

But now the Sekondi Eleven Wise player feels he has made his mark and reckons it will not be long before he joins his two siblings in a career in Europe.

"I came here as an unknown but now at least in Ghana everybody knows I am a good footballer and the offers keep coming. I don't think I will play in Ghana for long after this tournament alongside some of my colleagues."
