Ahead of the forthcoming Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) one-week Coaches' Training program, the Chief Executive Officer of Bahmed Travel and Tours, Alhaji Ahmed Bandoh has injected GH¢600 for that course.

At a short presentation ceremony at the offices of Bahmed Travel and Tours in Accra yesterday, Alhaji Bandoh indicated that the financial support was to ensure that Ghana Boxing assume the astronomical heights it has always commanded.

“This is just a token to ensure that the participants are attired decently and in one uniform,” Alhaji said in plain words. He gave the assurance that: “It is our widow's mite and hope to add some more when Terry Edwards, the British Amateur Boxing trainer arrives in the country.”

The British top notch boxing coach is expected to arrive in the country on Monday for the one-week coaching course in Accra.

The program, arranged by the GBA, in collaboration with Ghana Amateur Boxing Authority (GABA) is expected to start from Monday at the Press Centre of the Ohene Djan Stadium.

According to the GBA boss, the expatriate boxing trainer will visit some of the local gyms in the country to ensure that they put into practice whatever they learn at the seminar.

Mr. Foh-Amoning, the chairman of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), pointed out that Terry will take participants through the development of juvenile and school methodologies, developing coaching manual, as well as to differentiate between professional boxing techniques and amateur boxing techniques, because of the current use of computer scoring.

Mr. Mosses Foh-Amoaning, who received the cheque, noted that the gesture will help his outfit purchase sets of track suites for the participants. He thanked Alhaji Bandoh for the gesture and promised to put the money to good use.
