The Head Coach of Bechem Chelsea, Nii Noi Thompson has come out to deny the rumour surrounding his dismissal from the club.

The former assistant coach of Liberty Professionals, on hearing the news making rounds in the media that he has been sacked from the club because his performance was not up to the standard, has expressed his surprise and shock at this story.

Coach Thompson noted that on hearing this, he contacted the board chairman of the club, Mr. Tony Yeboah on phone , to verify what he has heard about his dismissal from the club, but the Chairman denied it.

He further stated that the team was currently on a break and will resume training next week.

“The technical team will revise the game plan and tactics and to approach every game with seriousness when the league resumes, he said on Asempa FM, an Accra-based radio station.”

“We are going to work hard to improve on our current position on the league table and aim at the top four positions, to enable us play in the Top 4 competition,” he added.

Chelsea took off on a good start in the league when they recorded wins against the giant clubs like Hearts of Oak and Liberty, and holding Asante Kotoko to 1-1 drawn game in Kumasi, which has made them a big threat in the on-going league competition.

Chelsea is currently placed ninth on the Glo premier league table, having won three times, drawn four, and losing three matches.

The Glo premier league is on recess to make way for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN), slated for Cote d'Ivoire, and it is expected to resume on March 11.
