Coach Milovan Rajevac The local component of the Ghana Black Stars will on Friday, leave for Bouake, Cote d'Ivoire, their base for the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Coach Milovan Rajevac has been pleased with the build-up to the tournament telling reporters, “We are working very well and I am satisfied with the level of work.

“There have been some pleasant surprises, though some can still prove themselves for regular places,” he added.

Media reports have suggested that Glo Premiership top scorer Obed Ansah of Accra Hearts of Oak and Alex Asamoah of Asante Kotoko will be included in the side, thereby leading to two expulsions.

However, it is uncertain whether the Serbian will carry out that speculation.

Both players could be critical in bolstering the attack ahead of Monday's opener against Zimbabwe.

Rajevac has made his expectations clear to the squad, demanding that they be 'proud to wear the jersey' and perform accordingly.

Ghana is the top seed in group B where they will pitch their strength against Zimbabwe, DR Congo and Libya in the hope of progressing to the knock out stages of the inaugural competition designed for locally-based players only.

The competition begins on Sunday February 22 and ends on March 8.
