Liberty striker Yaw Antwi scored the only goal for the side after 58 minutes when he tapped in from close range.
Rahim Ayew did all the damage and set-up Antwi who connected well.
The Stars could have taken a 14th minute lead but Asante Kotoko winger Francis Coffie threw away a spot-kick.
King Faisal dimunitive midfielder Ebo Andoh was whacked down by defender Adamu Mohammed and the referee awarded the kick.
The team is expected to leave on Friday and will open their campaign against Zimbabwe on 23 February in Bouake.
