Tema Golf President’s Putter Championship tees off on Feb. 21

The annual Tema Country Golf Club President's Putter Championship tees off at Tema on Saturday, Feb 21.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, General Manager of the Club who announced this at Tema on Monday, said about 150 amateur golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play championship which would be sponsored by Mr Do Jo Kofi Yim, President of the Club.

He said the competition, which would be the second major event of the year, has attracted a large entry of competitors as compared to last year's event.

Mr Adablanu said the competition which would be played in accordance with the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club, has handicap 18 and 24 respectively as the entry requirement for both Men and the Ladies.

The General Manager said some of the golfers expected to participate in the competition include William Asiedu Yeboah, immediate past captain of the Club, Kwaku Okyere, Captain of the Club and Felix Owusu Adjapong, immediate past President of the Club.

The Ladies segment would also feature veteran golfers like Mona Myles-Lamptey, Clara Price, Beatrice Vetsch-Bimpong and Francisca Vandyck, all of the Achimota Golf Club.

The Tema Golf Club's Annual General Meeting for the year 2009 would be held soon after the competition.
