The chiefs and people of the South Dayi Constituency of the Volta Region has congratulated President John Evans Atta Mills and his Vice President, John Dramani Mahama, on their election to the highest office of the land.

Mrs Perpetual P. Annan, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress, in a message issued on behalf of the chiefs and constituency executives, pledged their unflinching support for the President and his administration.

The statement assured the President that they would not only support the execution of development projects for the area, but would also act as watch dogs to ensure that contractors used quality materials and executed projects according to specification.

They appealed to the Presidency to improve the roads linking the Peki District Hospital to Toh-Todome and Tsatte-Tsibu.

“We also need additional doctors to help the only two working at the hospital, as attendance had tripled due to the introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme and the free maternal care programme,” the statement.

The chiefs and the party executives appealed for the rehabilitation of Kpeve, Dzemeni and Peki central markets and also inputs for the fishing industry at Dzameni to help reduce the cost of fish in the area, the message said.
