Ghana captain, Stephen Appiah is hoping to make the best out of a trial stint with Russian side Rubin Kazan as he hopes to get his career back on track after a long lay-off due to injury.

Appiah, who tried out at Tottenham, is looking for a new club after leaving Fenerbahce after a row over his fitness following a serious knee injury last year.

The 28-year-old was hoping to win a move to Tottenham after pitching up at White Hart Lane last month, but it appears Harry Redknapp has decided not to pursue his interest in the midfielder.

Appiah admits he would be interested in a move to Russia as he looks to get his career back on track.

"I am feeling better at the moment, I need to practice more," Appiah told skysports.com.

"Hopefully I will get a move as soon as possible, but to play in Russia will be good.
