Takoradi Golf Club would open this year's activities with its Captain's Prize Championship on Saturday, February 14.
Dubbed “Valentine Special' the competition, which is open to amateur golfers from Tema, Achimota, Celebrity, Benso and Tafo Clubs, is expected to attract about 100 golfers.
Reverend Lee Mensah, Captain of the Takoradi Golf Club who is sponsoring the competition, told GNA Sports in Accra on Monday, that the Club has undertaken an irrigation project to ensure that the golf course was put in good shape and conducive for play.
He said mouth-watering prizes had been put at stake to ensure keen competition.
Rev. Mensah asked all the participating golfers of the championship to ensure that they are punctual for an early tee-off.
He said veteran golfers like Sarpong Peprah and Augustine Lupiac are expected to participate in the annual competition
