Stephen Appiah Ghana captain Stephen Appiah says he is keen on getting a deal with Russian champions Rubin Kazan as he seeks to get back to active football.
The 28-year old midfielder has been without a club for a year but says Kazan is a side he will be keen to play for.
Appiah has been told by Ghana Coach Milovan Rajevac that he needs to be back playing again quickly and the player admits thought of the Black Stars is making the search for a club urgent.
“It is important that I get back to playing actively before the start of the World Cup qualifiers so I need regular action,” Appiah said.
“There are other clubs too who are keen and that goes with my desire to play competitively.”
Appiah also feels Kazan offers a good sporting platform. “The prospect of playing in the UEFA Champions League next season is very attractive to any player so I had to listen to Kazan.”
"The fact that Kazan won the league ahead of two big clubs Lokomotiv and Dynamo shows that they will take Europe by storm and I am excited,” he added. Kickoffghana.com
