KotokoHearts Duel Scares Referees

Referees in uniform MOST PREMIERSHIP referees reportedly shied away when they were confronted by the Professional League Board (PLB) to handle the Kotoko-Hearts cracker billed to take place in Kumasi tomorrow.

Perhaps for fear of being victimized or attacked by soccer fans for the least slip-up, referees confronted to take charge of the match allegedly declined to accept the offer, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS has been told.

This unfortunate development, sources said, at a time compelled the PLB to hire a referee from neighbouring Togo to handle the titanic duel until FIFA Referee William Agbovi accepted the challenge.

Referee Agbovi who has in recent times perfectly handled Kotoko-Hearts duels would therefore be at the centre when the two leading clubs in the country clash at the Baba Yara Stadium tomorrow.

The Suhum based referee would be ably assisted on the lines by Haruna Ayuba and Dawud Wadrago, the source hinted.
