Don Bortey TWO FORMER Hearts of Oak greats, Bernard Don Bortey and Charles Vardis have begun training with the club, ahead of the Phobians' titanic clash with Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The two players, sources say, want to feature for Hearts when they clash with Kotoko in a 9th-week titanic cracker scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on February 8, 2009.

Bortey and Vardis recently returned from unsuccessful sojourns abroad.

They began training with their mother club Hearts on Wednesday, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS gathered.

At the club's training grounds, Bortey displayed flashes of the brilliance which made him a toast of soccer fans in the country some years back.

The much anticipated International Transfer Certificates (ITCs) of Bortey and Vardis arrived in the country from Israel on Wednesday, the paper gathered.

Hearts management is eager to register both players in the coming days to enable them play in the match against Kotoko.
