The Chief Executive of COCOBOD, Isaac Osei has promised to continue to advance the cause of cocoa farmers on the floor of Parliament when he assumes the seat to represent the people of Subin constituency in the Ashanti Region on January 7, 2009.

Mr. Osei gave the assurance  when he paid a farewell visit to cocoa farmers in the Sefwi area to thank them for their support in making his tenure as Chief Executive successful.

He said though he would no longer be Chief Executive of COCOBOD when the 5th Parliament was inaugurated, he would continue to champion the cause of farmers.

'With the experience gained as a Chief Executive of COCOBOD, I would be in the position to make better inputs on issues concerning cocoa farmers because I know what they go through and the challenges they face', he stated.

At separate farmers' rallies at Juaboso, Akontombra, Essam Debiso and Sefwi Wiawso, the Chief Executive praised the farmers for their hard work.

Mr. Isaac Osei said that though his four-year contract to serve as Chief Executive had not expired yet, he had to answer the call of the people of Subin to represent them in Parliament.

He advised cocoa farmers to use only COCOBOD recommended chemicals on their farms to ensure that the country continued to enjoy the premium placed on its cocoa beans.

The recommended chemicals by COCOBOD for the control of capsid are 'Akate Master', ' Actara' and 'Confidor', while that for the control of black pod are 'Nordox', Champion' and Ridomil Gold Plus', 'Funguran' and 'Kocide'

The Chief Executive paid courtesy calls on the Akontombrahene, Nana Kwesi Kwarteng; the District Chief Executive of Akontombra District Assembly, Appaih Kubi Bredu; Essamhene, Nana Kweku Anim Baffour II and District Chief Executive for Bia District Assembly, Benjamin Armah.
