GAABA to honour Boxers and Gyms on Dec 26

The Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association (GAABA) has announced that the Prisons Canteen, Cantonments for its awards night that is scheduled for Friday, December 26.

Boxers, coaches and Gyms who exhibited exemplary skills will be honoured at the event to be climaxed by a special contest.

Gideon Quartey, Acting Chairman of GAABA told GNA Sports that 24 boxers and four gyms will be honoured at the awards night for their sterling performances during the third edition of the Regional Amateur League.

He also commended the participating gyms and their coaches for the unflinching support towards the activities of the Association during the year.

Wisdom Gym are the top on the list with the highest number of awardees with nine boxers made up of Habib Ahmed, Jibril Ahmed, Raphael Mensah, Sulemana Tetteh, Bright Ayala, Joshua Addy, Issa Samir, Musah Rahman Lawson and Matthew Nandoli.

Fit Square Gym follows with seven boxers; Duke Micah, Jesse Lartey, Nii Ofoli Tetteh, John Tiwinitaaba, Emmanuel Quartey, Emmanuel Agirie and Manyo Plange.

Moses Dormenyo, Michael Mensah, Mathias Sulley and Raymond Commey are from Square Deal Gym whilst Benjamin Lamptey of Will Power Gym, Sampson Dzakufrom the Akotoku Gym, Odoi Yemofio of the De-Oak Gym and Ebenzer Tetteh from the Sonia Gym complete the list.

The Gyms to receive awards are Fit Square, Wisdom, Sonia and Square Deal.
