RICS Charities institutes annual orphanages championship

RICS Charities, a subsidiary of RICS Group Limited, an event organizing company has instituted an annual football tournament for orphanages in the country.

The event, expected to roll out next year is aimed at unearthing talents and creating a platform for semi-privileged in society.

Magnus Rex Danquah, Executive Chairman of RICS Group Limited told GNA Sports that, the competition, open to all orphanages across the country is part of his outfit's support towards the development and promotion of sports.

He was expressed gratitude that the tourney will aid orphans live their dreams through sports and education.

Danquah explained the format of the tourney will be finalized by the second quarter of next year.

There will be cash and other prizes for winners and participants.

The orphanages football competition is the latest addition on the calendar of the social wing of RICS consult, organizers of the annual Inter Houses Athletics competition of Wesley Girls High School, Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) games and Northern Region Annual Inter-School Sports Festival.

Last Wednesday, the company donated footballs and apparels to thirteen institutions towards their activities.

They are ORPED Ghana, New Horizon Special School, Osu Children's Home, SOS Children's Village, Christo Sentric Orphanage, Christ Faith Forster Home and Mfantsiman Senior High School. Others are Mfantsipim Senior High School, Zinaps FC, Wonder Club, RICS Babes, Media Eleven and S.S. Marseilles FC.
