Top 4 Champions Liberty Professionals were yesterday shocked by Bechem Chelsea at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra in one of the opening matches of this year's premier league.

Led by Nii Noi Thompson, former deputy coach of Liberty who apparently was playing against his former boss Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, the debutants ran away with a 3-2 victory.

Striker Atika, Jackson Owusu and Ibrahim Issaka were the goal scorers for Chelsea while Yaw Antwi and Salifu Lati got Liberty's goals.

Elsewhere, defending champions Asante Kotoko were held to a goalless drawn game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

In other matches, new owners of AshGold started the season on a blissful note when they walloped Real Tamale United 4-1 at the Len Clay Sports Stadium at Obuasi.

At Abrankese, Kofi Agyare and Asare Boateng scored the two goals for Kessben FC to defeat another new entrant Eleven Wise by 2 goals to nil while the match between Hasaacas and Wa All Stars ended goalless at the Essipong Sports Stadium.

A 44th minute goal from striker Mohammed Alhassan also enabled Arsenal to thump African Champions League representative Heart of Lions 1-0 at the Berekum Golden City Park.

At the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium, hard-talking coach Opeele Boateng's Tema Youth shared the points with All Blacks when they drew one all.
