The national under-17 team, the Black Starlets would not be playing at next year's Africa Under-17 Championship after falling to the Gambia over the weekend.
The Starlets lost 2-0 to the Young Scorpions away on Saturday in the last qualifying round.
The Gambians thus pick one of the seven places available at the finals of the tournament to be hosted by Algeria.
