All is set for the 6th Seniors Open Championship scheduled from November 27 to December 6 at the tennis clay courts of the Accra Lawn Tennis Club (ALTC).

The prestigious tournament will be under the patronage of the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Sheikh I.C. Quaye, who is expected to attract some of the finest players from various clubs in the country.

The combatants will participate in10 categories in the forthcoming 10-day tournament to be organised jointly by the Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council and ALTC.

The categories are ladies singles 30 and above, men's singles 30-39 years, men's singles 40-49 years, men's singles 50-59 years, men's singles 60 and above and men's doubles 50-59 years.

The rest are super men's doubles for 60 years and above, ladies doubles 30 years and above, ladies doubles 30 years and above, mixed doubles 30 years and above and the men's open singles 18 years and above, which is the side attraction to the tournament. Matches will be played between 3:30pm and 8pm on weekdays and 8 am to 6pm on weekends.

Mr. Peter Annan, the tournament Director, in an interview stated that bigger participation and stiffer competition is expected at this year's tournament. According to him, the singles categories will attract a registration fee of GH¢10 per player while the doubles categories will attract GH¢ 6 per player.

At stake will be attractive prizes for those who excel in various categories.

According to the organizers of the tournament, the registration forms for the tournament are out.
