Ghana  international Harrison Afful has suffered another setback in his search for a club after being denied a contract at Norwegian Tippeligaen side Stabaek IF.

The 22-year-old left-back earned a one-week trial with the side after impressing a representative during last month's joint qualifier against Lesotho at home.

Afful is understood to have done little to convince the technical team of a deal.

"He was sent home today (Wednesday). We will continue to follow him, we have not concluded anything yet.

We have some other things to think about before Sunday. But we should be summing our impression and follow him further, ' said Stabaek-coach Jan Jönsson to the Manager.

This happens to be a second failed attempt by the youngster after an unsuccessful stint with Dutch side Feyenoord in July.

Afful was recently voted the best defender in last season Premier League where his lethal wing play secured the title for Kotoko.

He has been struggling to find a club after his contract with the Porcupine Warriors expired in June. Ghanasoccernet
