Ghana's Under-17 team, the Black Starlets, engage Gambia in the last hurdle first leg qualifier of the Africa Under-17 Championship.
The Starlets expect a tougher opposition on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium after enjoying an easy ride over Libya in the previous qualifying round.
" We are prepared and we watched their Under 20s lose to our side in Ghana and we have a fair idea of how they play," Head coach E K Afranie told Ghanasoccernet.com
" We are expecting bigger boys from Gambia and that is why all these while we played premier league sides not to be overwhelmed."
The team polished their preparations last week with a 4-0 win over a second-string Asante Kotoko side.
The winner over two-legs progresses to the finals to be staged in Algeria next year.
Ghana will be seeking a double over Gambia in youth football after the Young Scorpions were eliminated in the Africa Youth Championship last month.
