Vodafone Supports Farmers Day

Vodafone (VF) has presented a cheque for GH¢10,000 to the Ministry of Agriculture towards the organization of the 24th National Farmers' Day celebration.

This year's Farmers' Day celebration is scheduled to take place in the Brong Ahafo region tomorrow, Friday 7th November, 2008.

Presenting the cheque, Major Albert Don Chebe (Rtd), Head of Corporate Communications and Customer Care, said Vodafone, being a caring brand, decided to support this year's Farmers' Day celebration with the donation, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

“This is just one of the many corporate social responsibilities Vodafone has done in its few months of operation in Ghana with many more to come before the end of the year”, Major Don Chebe added.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Ministry, Mr. Eledi, Deputy  Minister of Agriculture in charge of Fisheries, thanked Vodafone for the kind gesture and asked other corporate bodies to emulate their good example.
