Ghanaian youth international Daniel Opare played his first game for the youth side of Real Madrid's Castilla on Sunday after coming on as substitute.

The 18-year-old moved to Real in January after impressing at last year's FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Korea.

Opare had been part of the starting set-up until he picked up a foot injury during the pre-season but has recovered and wants to recapture his slot.

"This was my first match and I am very happy. On the grass I've been phenomenal, everything has been great," Opare told the club's official website.

"At Real Madrid everything is great, especially my colleagues, who are wearing very well with me," he added.

"This place is fantastic and I think that if we play many minutes it can greatly help my team. "The game was a bit difficult to win today. Fortunately we have achieved the three points that we wanted, and we're all happy." Ghanasoccernet
