Abreshia United reap goal harvest

Abreshia United started the Central Region Division Two Sub Middle League on a bright note when they spanked Saltpond Kampsite 4-1 in their encounter which kicked off at the Robert Mensah stadium on Saturday.

Midfielder, Alex Ennin was the main architect of the sweet victory as he scored a hat trick in the proceedings to propel his team to the sweet victory.

After Referee J. Awuah signalled the two sides into action Abreshia United indicated their seriousness when they shot ahead through in the 24th minute through Ennin and increased the tally to two goals through Acquah Mensah in the 39th minute.

On resumption of the second half, Ennin was on target again to score in the 59th and 74th minutes to raise his side's goal tally to 4-0.

Saltpond Kampsite managed to get a consolation goal through outside right, Gideon Acquah in the 89th minute to bring the full time score to 4-1.

In another match played at the same venue, Agona Fankobaa drew 2-2 with Tuba Metro Stars.

Mr Mathew Doe, Chairman of Central Regional Football Association told GNA Sports that eight teams are participating in the tournament and at the end of the tournament two more teams will be promoted to join six other teams who have qualified for the Division Two Middle League scheduled for November 9, 2008.
