PINI ZAHAVI, the man regarded as the 'world's super soccer agent' has arrived in the country for a short holiday. Zahavi is credited with facilitating many of the world's football takeovers, notable among them being that of Chelsea Football Club in the English Premiership by Russian business tycoon, Roman Abramovich.
The Israeli-born player-agent is in the country at the invitation of his friend, Herbert Mensah, the chief consultant of Fortia Company Limited which recently took over Ashantigold FC.
Zahavi was accompanied by Mike Makaab, Director of Prosport International, a leading sports agency in the world which deals in rugby, cricket, and swimming among a host of other sporting disciplines.
The two world-acclaimed personalities arrived at the Kumasi Airport at exactly 2:00 pm on Tuesday and were whisked away in a waiting car by Frederick Acheampong of Ashantigold FC to the plush Golden Tulip Hotel.
Later in an interview with DAILY GUIDE SPORTS, Mr. Zahavi said he would use the visit to look for the appropriate avenues to help in the rapid development of Ghana football.
Later in a chat with Sometimer Otuo Acheampong of Kessben FM, Mr. Zahavi disclosed plans to meet with Kwesi Nyantakyi, the GFA President for possible discussions on how best he could help raise the standard of Ghana football within a short time.
On his part, Mr. Mensah said though he initiated Mr. Zahavi's visit into the country, promising to allow the soccer agent to fraternize with managers of the various clubs to ensure how he could help them with his rich expertise in football.
