Sulley Ali Muntari has revealed that his 'Dad' Luciano Spalletti, who is the coach of Roma, is the manager who started his Serie A career.

Muntari trained under Spalletti at Udinese when he arrived in Italy as a youngster from Ghanaian side Liberty Professionals.

"Every time I step on the field, I thank Spalletti for where I am now," said the former Udinese midfielder.

"I arrived in Udine aged 18 and he treated me like a son. Everyone said I was not ready for Serie A, but he believed in me and I did not waste that opportunity.

"Spalletti taught me so much, especially how to always remain concentrated when playing," continued the Ghanaian.

"Having said that, I am playing for Inter and have to give everything for that club. I already proved that by scoring a goal against Roma in the Italian Super Cup.

"We already beat the Roma in August, but they have been playing such good football for many years and it is going to be a tough game. We're full of stars and cannot be afraid of any opponent. We are going to Rome for all three points."
