Ghanaian footballing legend Sammy Kuffuor has praised Stephen Appiah for his exemplary captaincy of the Black Stars.
Appiah was handed the leadership role after the former Bayern Munich player was stripped of the captaincy following several run-ins with the football authorities.
Kuffour has played alongside Appiah, since the former Fenerbahce player received his senior debut call up at the age of 16.
Even though Kuffuor lost the armband to his younger compatriot, the defender insists Appiah is the right man for the job.
"Stephen Appiah is a great leader. He has taken Ghana to the World Cup," Kuffuor said.
"He has all the qualities. I have been with him and I tell you he is a good leader."
