Fifa wants Sekondi chaos confirmed

SEKONDI FANS WERE IMPATIENT The Ghana Football Association has been told by Fifa to confirm explain the incidences that marred last Saturday's joint 2010 qualifier against Lesotho in Sekondi.

World Football's governing body's request is precipitated by reports by the local and international media of an overcrowded Stadium for the match.

Deaths reports and a stampede dominated the post-match talks although the country's football authorities denied them.

Two persons and over a score of fans were reported injured in the course of the match.

"Caf is reacting because of what was reported to have happened.I said it over and over again that nobody died and that is the truth," President Kwesi Nyantakyi told Ghanasoccernet.com

"There were no sour mouths after the game and that should be good for us.If the win was overshadowed by the reported then we have cause to complain.

"There were a lot of people who had tcikets but did not have a place to sit. That is bad and we place the security personnel and ticketing methods.

"We will respond accordingly and fifa will take the final decision but I don't think Ghana will be in trouble."
