Obei's Football Management, an Accra-based soccer academy had registered 2,000 footballers for this year's 'Talent Hunt' exercise.

Out of the registered number only 23 of them would be selected through a justify-your-inclusion exercise which would take place on October 24 and 25.

The selected players would then be camped and trained for a training tour of South Africa and France where they would be expected to develop their football talents.

The Academy would bear all the expenses including accommodation, air fares and feeding of the selected players.

Mr Freshpound Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of the Academy who announced these in Accra on Monday, said the aim of the exercise is to offer gainful employment for the youth.

He said since this is an election year, the Academy found it prudent to offer employment for the unemployed youth in order to keep them busy and protect them from being used by disgruntled people to cause confusion..

Mr Ibrahim said since satan always finds work for idle hands, the exercise would keep the players busy and ensure they are protected away from being used to foment troubles.
He expressed the hope that the players would give of their best and win laurels for themselves and the nation.
