The gala competition was organised by the Cape Coast Muslim Youth Association to climax activities marking the celebration of the Ramadan fasting festival.

In the preliminary matches, Abura beat Adisadel community 2-0 and pipped Essuekyir community 1-0 on their way to the finals, while the Wangara community also beat Staff Quarters community 2-0 and also beat Kotokuraba community 5-3 to qualify for the finals.

Mohammed Muntara Yahaya, Chairman of the Muslim Youth Association commended the communities for their sportsmanship and advised them to be law abiding and not to allow politicians to use them to cause chaos during the electioneering campaigns, to bring their reputation into disrepute.
