The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has voted GH¢12,000 to the 12 Division One clubs that have qualified for the ongoing Middle League towards qualification to the Premiership.

The financial incentive is to support the clubs in their respective campaigns towards promotion to the elite division.

Chief Executive Officer of GHALCA, Mr Kurt Okraku, who rvealed this to the Daily Graphic, explained that each club was entitled to GH¢1,000.

He said the gesture was GHALCA's means of lessening the financial burden on the clubs, all of whom are members of the clubs' welfare body.

He asked representatives of the 12 participating clubs to call at the new GHALCA offices at the Ohene Djan Stadium for their share of the package.

The clubs are B.A. United, Berekum Chelsea, Upper Stars, Soccer Warriors, Eleven Wise, Samartex, Westham, Norchip, Fair Point, Royal Knights, Power FC and St Mirren.

The Middle League kicked off last Wednesday with some thrilling Zone 1 and Zone 2 pairings in Accra, Tema and Kumasi.

The competition continues on Sunday, with Zone 3 clubs joining the fierce search for the three automatic Premiership slots.
