FIFA referee Joseph Lamptey of Ghana has
been appointed to handle this weekend’s Group Three 2010 World
Cup/African Cup of Nations clash between host country Niger and their
Ugandan counterparts.
The clash is billed for the General Seyni Kountche Stadium in Niamey on
Saturday, September 5.
Information gathered by GNA Sports has it that referee Lamptey would
lead the quartet of Ghanaian match officials appointed by the world soccer
governing body, FIFA for the game.
Lamptey who turns 34, five days after the game will be assisted on the
lines by compatriots, David Laryea and Dawood Ouedrago.
Takoradi-based Cecil Fleischer will be the fourth official.
This will be the second continental assignment for the quartet since the
CAF Confederation Cup clash between CS Sfaxien-Platinum Stars in Sfax,
Tunisia last July.
