The August Medal Open Championship of the Celebrity Golf Club tees off at Sakumono near Tema on Saturday, August 30.
Mr Joe Ohemeng, Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club who announced this at Tema on Tuesday said more than 100 golfers are expected to participate in the competition which is aimed at putting the golfers in good shape for a major competition soon.
He said the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition, which is open to amateur golfers in the Greater Accra Region, would be sponsored by the Club.
Mr Ohemeng said management of the Club has put in place adequate preparations to ensure a keen competition.
He said men with Handicap 18 qualify to play but those with Handicap 24 may play to Handicap 18.
Akwasi Opoku, Piere Coussey, Abdul Aziz-Amankwa and Kobina Quansah are among competitors who had already signed up for the event.
Three prizes would be given in the Men's category while two would be given in the Ladies event.
The next major competition is the Tigo Tema Open scheduled for Tema on September 6 and 7.
