Herbert Mensah balks AshGold CEO talks
Former Chief Executive of Asante Kotoko, Herbert Mensah, has poured cold water on reports linking him the AshantiGold Football Club job.
AshantiGold are on verge of losing current Chief Executive, Kudjoe Fianoo, who is on a warpath with a section of the club?s supporters, and nearly quit his job two months ago.
Fianoo is also contesting on the ticket of the ruling NPP as Member of Parliament in the Volta Region come December?s general elections.
Mensah's charismatic leadership injected lot professionalism into the Asante Kotoko set-up during his four-year stay with the Kumasi-based side.
"I have received a lot of request from fans calling for my return but I have not discussed anything with officials," Mensah told an Obuasi-based radio station.
"I don't want to say anything for now because my hands are full taking care of my club in the lower division."
Under his regime, he struck a sponsorship deal with the then mobile phone operators, Mobitel.
Mensah also netted a sponsorship deal with German-based kits manufacturing firm,Ulsports,for Kotoko's campaign in then Caf Cup.
