Princessess Fall To Nigeria

By Raymond Ackumey - newtimesonline.com

A tactically bankrupt Ghanaian Black Princesses side threw away a 2-0 first half lead, crashing 2-3 to their Nigerian counterparts in the first leg final qualifier for the Chile World Under-20 Cup at the EL Wak Sports Stadium yesterday.

The Ghanaians, demonstrating a lot of tactical deficiency on the day, shot into the lead through Anita Amankwah in the 8th minute. She grabbed a brace four minutes later with a spectacular effort.

On resumption, however, the visitors varied their game-plan, pinning the Ghanaians to their own half for a long spell.

It came as little surprise when Orji Ebere scored in the 65th and 88th minutes, while Sera Michael added her name to the score sheet in the 77th minute, to send the visitors into an unending celebration, leaving the Black Princesses in tears.
