Geoff Fisher, former Achimota capo returned a 70 net score to emerge winner in this month's Achimota Golf Club Medal Open Championship which was held at the Achimota Golf Course last Saturday.
Theophilous Govinous, one of the winners of the 76th Ghana Open Championship defeated Sam Bannerman-Wood on count-back with a 73 net score.
Sampene Garbrah's 70 net won the men's category “B”, beating Emmanuel Quarcoo also on count-back, while Felix Majekodunmi finished third with 74 net, beating
Jacob Aryee on count-back.
Golf World's Bridgette Harrington won the Ladies event with 69net score. Victoria Adjei, Joy Arkutu and Florence Etwi-Barimah followed in that order.
Robert Aziamakpor grossed 71 to win the pros event gross, with Stephen Klah, John Dorman, David Doe and Cosmos Dzikunu following in that order.
The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition was sponsored by Pricewater House Coopers. For their exploits, the winners took home glittering trophies with special cash prizes.
Mr Bob Evans, Captain of the Club thanked the company for sponsoring the competition.
Mr Felix Addo, Senior Partner of Pricewater House Coopers urged the youth to take active interest in golf to keep them healthy.
