2 World Titles In Offing- GBA Boss

Moses Foh-Amoaning, Chairman of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has predicted that two Ghanaian boxers would win world titles before the close of the year.

Speaking to the GNA Sports in Accra, Mr Foh- Amoaning said the two titles would come from Raymond Narh and Joshua Clottey, both of whom are highly rated by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and are in strong contention for world titles.

Narh is rated 13 and is scheduled to fight number three contender Zahir Raheem of the United States of America (USA) in April in the final eliminator for the IBF Lightweight title.

Clottey on the other hand is the IBF number one contender and has been waiting to take on champion Kermint Cintron of the USA for the Welterweight title.

According to Foh-Amoaning, both boxers have demonstrated over the years that they have qualities of world champions and are capable of annexing the titles in the near future.

He said "Clottey and Narh have been waiting for the opportunity to write their names in the boxing Hall of Fame and would not let the opportunity slip through their fingers."

Mr Foh-Amoaning added that, "the two boxers are in perfect condition for the challenges ahead and look set to give the nation two more world titles".

"Realizing these dreams would definitely represent golden moments for the nation and bring to fruition years of toil by the two boxers," he stated.

The GBA Chairman emphasised that his outfit would marshal the needed support for the two boxers to enable them realise their dreams. Mr Foh-Amoaning expressed confidence that Joseph Agbeko would also have a successful defence of his IBF Bantamweight title.

Agbeko won the IBF Bantamweight title late last year and has been preparing feverishly for the defence of the title against William Gonzalez of Nicaragua later in April or early May. GNA
