Kessben Grabs 2 Kotoko Players

KESSBEN FC has successfully signed on two former Kotoko stars to beef up their squad for the second round of the ongoing Onetouch premiership.

The players, Douglas Nkrumah and Michael Ofosu Appiah have signed six months contract each with the premier league debutants.

Mr. Fred Acheampong, Communications Director of the club, who disclosed this in an interview with DAILY GUIDE SPORTS failed to mention the amount involved, but stressed that it was mouth-watering.

He revealed also that the club has successfully signed on Edmund Owusu Peprah on a three-year contract from Kumasi-based King Faisal.

The signings which were meant to augment the existing squad and help improve the team's performance in the league, according to Mr. Acheampong, would not be the end of the clubs recruitment drive, hinting, “We will sign on two or three more players before the second round resumes”.

He stated that management of the team was bent on motivating the players to enable them deliver to improve on the club's current seventh position on the league ladder.

The Communications Director also disclosed that Coach Van Der Plume has been appointed head coach of the club, replacing Frimpong Manso who is now in charge of the national under-17 team, the Black Starlets.

The Dutchman, who has coached various clubs in the country, has successfully signed a one-and-half-year contract with the Kumasi-based club.

Mr. Acheampong expressed the hope that the new coach would help improve the fortunes of the club, especially in the second round.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that Coach Van Der Plume is contemplating appointing former junior national star, Thomas Duah as his assistant.

Duah in his playing days, featured actively for the junior national teams in the country, most especially the Black Starlets.
