The organization representing clubs in the country, the Ghana League Clubs Association – GHALCA, is backing two premiership sides to victory as continental club matches returns this weekend.

GHALCA, in a message to both clubs says Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold have the capability to play for a win in their separate matches.

“We do not doubt your capability to make us proud, but as you step out onto the pitch this weekend, just be guided by the indomitable fighting spirit of the Ghanaian and fight until the battle is won,” a statement from the club's organization said.

Ghana's Accra Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold would both be involved in matches away from home when the CAF Champions League gets underway.

Last season's league champions, Hearts of Oak, winners of the Champions League in 2000, play in Gabon against FC105 Libreville while AshantiGold also take on Sahel SC of Niger in the first leg matches of the second round of the competition.

A win for the two sides over two legs would secure them places in the third round of the lucrative competition in April and May.
