Cote d'Ivoire kept up their impressive form at the MTN Africa Cup of Nations as they steamrolled Guinea 5-0 in their quarter-final at Sekondi on Sunday.

After leading 1-0 at half-time, the heavily fancied Elephants added two more to clinch a semifinal berth for a second successive MTN Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Abdelkader Keita had the Elephants ahead in the 25th minute with a shot from a tight angle as Guinea goalkeeper Kemoko Camara incorrectly anticipated he would square the ball for a team mate and left his left-side post unattended.
Captain Didier Drogba grabbed
his third goal of the tournament as he sped past the Guinea defence to side foot the ball past the goalkeeper in the 70th minute.

And it all fell apart for Guinea two minutes later as Salomon Kalou walked the ball into the net for the third goal.

Kalou also got the fourth when he tapped into an empty net after a strong run and pass from midfielder Gneri Yaya Toure.

A long range shot from Bakary Kone made it 5-0 with four minutes remaining.

Guinea, playing without suspended captain Pascal Feindouno, were no match for the Ivorians and had their goal scoring opportunities restricted to long range shooting.

It was the third successive tournament that Guinea were beaten in the quarter-finals.
